This Week in Canadian EdTech with Award Winning Author
Dr Richard Kelly on his New Book, The Nature of Business Transformation along with Dr. Mario Chaisson |
|
|
Welcome to our monthly CanAm North American-wide EdTech Report.
Full disclosure, I recovered from COVID last week. Fortunately, I was fully vaccinated and wasn't all that impacted. Equivalent to a minor flu bug. I kept it low key and stayed home my mandatory 5 days til I felt no further symptoms. It was ironic that I contracted it during the first week of the removal of masking. I tracked it down to my one of my ice hockey groups.
This after two years of being super careful at our MindShare Innovation space and no issues. We cannot let our guard down fully is the reality.
I had lots of time to think and reflect during my isolation week and did manage to continue to podcast and ponder what's in store for our future of learning beyond COVID.
Our podcast conversations were rich and insightful! Our featured podcast will challenge your leadership thinking with Drs, Richard Kelly and Mario Chaisson on swarm leadership and the analogy of honeybees. Be sure to tune into this and our Unboxing EdTech and the Wacom One! My last but not least podcast features, the EdTech visionary, Keith Kreuger, CEO, CoSN, who is hosting their first f2f Summit in Nashville which I will be attending and reporting from. I am also currently attending (virtually), the ASU+GSV Summit that is in its final day and FREE of charge online. Here's the link to join. If you have a passion for the future of work & learning, this is one not to miss!
I was struck by the recent OECD Education report that shares the notion, "h aving teachers who are effective at using digital technologies in the classroom can open more pathways for their students. This is just one way that teachers can help to make schools more equitable." Thought provoking and powerful stuff! Here's the link to learn more.
Contracting COVID for me was a wakeup call. In essence, we have an opportunity today and 'moral imperative' as it's been suggested by some, to drastically change the learning landscape for kids, and make it real and relevant as we shift gears into the future.
What you need to know is that there are a great number of passionate educators and leaders, like you, who want to see change happen. It' all starts with a conversation and building community. This is inspiration for the working title for our 13th Fall Canadian EdTech leadership Summit, "
The State of EdTech in Canada: Driving Innovation Through Evidence-Based Research." Stay tuned for more details!
Kudos to the recent EdTech Digest Award Winners, our partners, clients and colleagues who excelled at the top of their class -- Edsby, Class, edWeb and Prodigy. Congratulations also go to the GSV EdTech Top 150, including Canadian companies-- Applyboard, Paper Learing, Prodigy and Top Hat.
I hope you enjoy this month's expanded CanAm Edition of the MindShare Report.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me and share your comments, success stories, news, research, and events with us! We love hearing from you! Feel free to call me directly at 416-569-2106, or drop me an email, if we can be of further support to your organization's innovation, or edtech growth plans through our strategic consulting services.
Thank you for the inspiration and kind feedback that motivates our team to provide you with mission critical research and insights to optimize your learning and technology strategy.
Until next time, stay healthy, stay safe and keep the digital learning curve steep!
