This Week in Canadian EdTech MindShareTV with Robert Martellacci in conversation with Dr. Stephen Cox, CEO, Osiris Educational on Global Education Trends & PD opportunities >> Upcoming World Ed Summit March 21-24 Online

Dear Thought Leader,

Happy International Women and Girls in Science and STEM Day as designated by the UN.  As the proud father of my daughter, Bianca, it's heartwarming to see the incredible strides women have made through scholarship and mentorship. Yet we have a long way to go in attracting more women in the STEM and Tech fields.

Proudly, at Mindshare we embraced the ICTC WIL (Work Integrated Learning) program to help a female university students gain digital skills. One success story, having just graduated in December, I'm pleased to say we hired Ivana full-time as a result of the exceptional WIL mentorship program created by ICTC.

In this issue, we also celebrate Black history month with our 'Tweet of the Week' and featured news stories.

While I'm still processing the massive learning from FETC, we have a few more highlights and and an exclusive podcast with head of Zoom education and a spotlight on Canadians at FETC.

We are honoured to announce we've been selected to be strategic media partners in two leading global EdTech conferences: the World Education Summit, attracting some 40,000 online attendees and ISTE22 in New Orleans. Our passion is to provide a global lens and insight to help keep Canada at the leading-edge of innovation in education.

This week I was honoured to podcast with two global education legends in Dr. Stephen Cox, Founder & CEO of Osiris Education hosting WES22 and award-winning author, Marc Prensky, "Digital Native & 'Digital Immigrant' pioneer.

While my podcast guests are two worlds apart, they shared similar messages in their vision for the future of learning. Challenging students in solving 'wicked' real world problems, during their learning day where they achieve a sense of accomplishment through their learning, is essentially their thesis. We'll leave the assessment piece for another issue.

I'm a BIG fan of challenge based learning, and thrilled to share that we'll be announcing our 14th Schools of the Future [Student Engagement] Challenge next week at the Dell Education Roadshow.

I hope you enjoy this week's Top 10 curated news stories that really provide a national and international lens and pulse for some of the incredible innovation happening across our vast Canadian landscape and beyond.

Special thanks to you, our loyal readership, our team, board of advisors and valued partners, who enable us to share and stay connected with you on a weekly basis through our growing community.

We love hearing from you and truly appreciate the sharing of news, jobs and welcome your suggestions for MindShareTV podcast guests!  Please do inquire about our strategic marketing and pedagogical EdTech consulting services.

Until next time, stay healthy, stay safe and keep the learning curve steep!
